STEM Connection: Neuropharmacology

During the Institute, we had a video conference call with a post doctorate researcher, Dr. O'Brien at Vanderbilt University, who researches protein receptors for obsessive spectrum disorders.

Dr. O'Brien mentioned many different ways that he uses chemistry, data collection, and data analysis in his research. â€‹It was interesting to see how chemistry affects the brain and ways that scientists are using to combat disructions in normal brain function.

I would like to use his data sets as a real-world example of collecting data. Also, I will use his study of binding compounds as an example of chemistry and of anatomy/physiology of the brain.
