We were privileged to have two local wastewater engineers come and talk to us about some of the challenges, the science and the misconceptions about wastewater.

I was very interested to learn how construction projects, water use and chemistry all play a part in the processing and sanitizing of wastewater. As a previous zookeeper for aquatic animals, I was excited to hear how my knowledge and real-world application of the nitrogen cycle also fits in with wastewater treatment.

I am interested in using my knowledge in aquatics and wastewater treatment steps to build a mock treatment plant for my students.
